Clerkenwell Design Week: A Feast for the eyes!

Last week at Cowcross Yards, we were thrilled to have hosted London’s very own Clerkenwell Design Week in EC1.

The noted design week showcases thousands of cutting-edge products, installations, activations, and designs in the sun – and this year we had three uderly amazing displays which were open to the public from 23-25 May.

Next Generation Design – a Brand Activation from Scale Rule, showcasing the creativity and talent of young Londoners as the next generation in architecture, engineering and design. This year’s installation is a sculpture designed by young architects and engineers working together as designers without labels. At the end of CDW the installation will be demounted with the kit preserved and ready to be used again in the future in a totally different function or configuration.

Architextural – a display of hyper realistic surfaces, wall coverings, and installations providing simple and cost effective alternatives for interior design projects. The rapid emergence of architectural films as a method of rejuvenating interiors is opening up new opportunities for businesses.

Hana Form – in the Denmark House tunnel leading into Cowcross Yards, Hana Form has installed an impressive flower display consisting of vibrant arrays of intricate and colourful blooms of all sizes and textures. The installation is the end result of Hana Form’s ethos of ecological sensitivity applied to its practices and materials. Each flower is carefully crafted by skilled artisans from handmade paper and recycled organza. As such, each piece is a celebration of the beauty of nature and human creativity, and the importance of preserving both for future generations.

It was a wonderful week in the sun, which showcased these stellar works of design and craftsmanship!

This week – the street-food market with KERB is back as usual!

We’ll see you there.

Hump-day heartache…

We’re so sorry to tell you that this week 8th & 9th March, the street-food market at Cowcross Yards is cancelled. We hope you understand these decisions aren’t made lightly, and our amazing InKERBator cohort will be back next week!

However, we’ll be back next week! Check back on Monday for the the line up here, and our Instagram @CowcrossYards for more deets.

That’s right, we’re giving the people what they WANT.

A WEDNESDAY MARKET TOO!
